Talladega Nation Forest
We met up together in the spring of 2017 to spend a day and and evening in the middle of the Talladega National Forest in Alabama. This would be our first visit to this area. Our expectations were not too high, but we figured we had the time and decided to visit the area. It was very beautiful day when we arrived. We gathered our equipment, we did not take much being it was only for a day and a night. We hiked in a few miles all the way to a quarry. We staged in that are for a few hours just listening. Nothing stirred.
As it got closer to dark we decided to head back and camp on knoll that the dirt road kind of curved around. Were were on high ground and on all side it would dip down and then rise to some rather large ridges. We figured we were in a great spot, being the trees were dropping their leaves and anything that would move we would here. We settled in for the evening. This trip we did not even bring tents or sleeping bags. We figured we could just settle in on the ground. After all it was only for one night. The night went by rather uneventful, as expected. We never call it a bust though, being we enjoy being outdoor with everything nature has to offer.
