Mount Shasta

My sister and I flew into Sacramento, California In September 2014. We headed north to the Mount Shasta Area. After hearing many recent stories, we figured we would have to go see first hand. I will say that This part of California is very beautiful. Our First day we decided to go straight to the mountain and do some climbing. There is a spot for visitors to park about halfway up and you can hike the rest. The morning was cloudy and drizzly as we closed in on the summit. About mid day the clouds broke and were were greeted by spectacular views. My first thoughts were, bigfoot could be anywhere and you would not know.
We stayed on the mountain for a couple hours just taking in the surroundings. It is pretty open on the mountain with not much cover especially toward the top and we figured that it would not be an ideal place for bigfoot to roam. We did decide to came back after dark and stay closer the the parking area being it was more covered, and we would just sit and wait to see if we could here anything. Unfortunately that night was very quiet and other than some kids partying not to far from us there was no events. We called it and evening and decided the next day to go around to the back of the mountain that was very forest heavy and take a look.
In the morning we did go to the northern side of the mountain but stayed toward the base. We set up our gear and hiked a ways in. We do like to set food out, mainly fruit, high enough that bears cannot get to them. So we did that, and place one of our game cameras not too far away, hoping to get some good pictures. We stayed in the are for a few hours and decided to come back after dark.
We went back to town and grabbed a bite to eat, and then when it got dark we headed back to our spot. The first thing we did was to check our fruit basket and cameras. Nothing. The fruit had not been touched. We decided to walk up a ridge behind where we had parked. By this time it must have been around 11pm. Though neither of us are afraid of the dark, as we got to the top of the ridge, we shined our lights down the opposite side and did see some deer. (Sorry no pics of deer this time.) It was in that moment my sister started to get a very bad feeling. I wanted to go further down the ridge and she refused. I found that strange being she is a bit more adventurous than I am. I was like, are you sure, she kept telling she really felt she was being watched. We stayed very still for a while hoping to here anything. It was pitch dark out there and very quiet, not even insects were making noise. We were about 200 yards up the ridge from our vehicle and figured we would slowly start making our way back down the ridge. By this time it was well after midnight. We started to make our decent, and every time we moved, it seem like something would move with us in the tree line not to far from us. We would stop, it would stop. This kept going for about halfway down, then it stopped. Needless to say we were both pretty spooked. We loaded our gear and we left the spot. Sometimes I know our minds can get the best of us in certain situations, though I never felt being watched, we both heard something moving along with us as we headed down. It seems it wanted to make sure we were exiting it's area.
